but just curious, WHY are you so confident in cotto moving up to 160? what makes you think he can have success when most including myself think he shouldnt even be @ 154?? dudes got balls, but i think hes biting off more then he can chew with maravilla here, been sayin it for a while

Cotto's jab and overall boxing ability are getting lost in the shuffle because of how he came out like a train against Delvin Rodriguez. Like many have said, DR isn't SM. Cotto isn't going to attack Sergio constantly, instead switching between lateral movement and planting his feet to release power shots.

I understand the doubt. Sergio has plenty of advantages here. But I've said once and I'll say it again. He's never fought a boxer with the boxing skills of Miguel Cotto.

I commend you on your faith.. Even if it's blind faith... Should be interesting.... Are you going to see Cotto fight live?

Get with the times! Martinez is 40, he's hurt all the time. Cotto will smother Martinez with pressure, suck the life out of his legs, and your boy Sergio is not the same guy you want to believe he still is. And when Serg gets stopped, what's your excuse, Roy????? Stop betting with your heart.

Pavlik and Chavez have shown the ability to hurt and knockout middleweights. Cotto's a good boxer, but he's displayed certain weaknesses that Martinez can exploit. The Trout fight laid out the blueprint on how to beat Cotto. Martinez will fire that straight to the body just like Trout did. He'll move just like Trout did. He'll jab just like Trout did. He'll smother on the inside just like Trout did. And he'll do all of it better than Trout did. What gameplan would be best for Cotto to use to beat Martinez, in your opinion?
LOOK YOU F****N CLOWNS, COTTO doesn't need to hit as hard as Pavlik & Chavez.... Sergio isn't the same guy who was almost KO'd by a stoned Chavez. He's now a shot fighter at 40 years old, has looked poor in his last 4 fights regardless of the outcome. He was hurt in all four of those fights. He hasn't been able to run until NOW for cardio. All you Sergio lovers, Cotto will just pursue and pursue, throw a lot of punches, and the cumulation of punches will suck the life out of those 40 year old legs, and this fight will end ugly for Martinez. There's a big difference in health between Cotto and Sergio, and the difference in age will also matter. Cotto doesn't have to be the heaviest hitter. He will be continuous, and have no problem landing punches on Sergio who only knows how to carry his hands at his waistline. SO get over yourselves... I cant wait to hear your excuses, when they wave the towel to save Sergio from a beatdown at 40 years old.

                  • Yep. Bad signs for Martinez camp.

                    Either nervousness or overconfidence.

Cotto is not a Chavez Jr, Kelly Pavlik, or a Martin fcking Murray.

Cotto has fought the best of the best. He's no slouch and is by far more technically skilled than Martinez.

If Martinez doesn't come in at 100% he'll get embarrassed.

At 160 Pavlik KO's Cotto in 4 rounds, Chavez stops him by round 5-9TKO, Murray walks him down.

Prime Martinez decapitates Cotto, 75% Martinez stops Cotto via round 8-10TKO or schools him for 12 rounds (w/a strong finish).
