Mares was the main undercard guy for the Guerrero fight and that didn't turn out so well. I doubt Khan has any interest in being on Floyd's undercard and have a feeling that privately Broner isn't too happy with Floyd fighting Maidana after he just exercised his "rematch clause".

1. Khan might not like it, but does he have any better fight options? His last fight was vs Julio Diaz for pete's sake. Khan needs to pick someone worth a **** and while May 3rd on Mayweather's undercard might not be the only opportunity for Khan .. it would be a pretty massive one

2. Too bad for Broner, but he's probably better off going to 140 and setting up shop as a junior Welter. **who knows, a second loss to Maidana would have been a tough career setback to bounce back from. Floyd fighting Maidana is probably doing Broner a favor in the long run

That would be a good fight, but I hope it won't be the main attraction to the fight. I think they will probably slot Matthysse in there with Amir Khan, Adrien Broner or Keith Thurman.

People are complaining about the main event, but GBP always puts a damn good undercard for true boxing fans if the main event isn't huge, hell even canelo had lucas-danny.

On topic though......Mares I like and thought he'd rise in the p4p rankings but this fight is gonna be a beating. If he wins it though...he's riding on a new high.

the way everyone bought mayweather-guerrero? abner mares is not a big deal to me. the card is already off to a bad start as far as i'm concerned. 2 of the 4 fight in the books and i'm not particularly excited about either. i can't see a reason to buy this when bradley-pacquiao is coming up fast and this undercard has the potential to suck.

I havent watched any Mayweather fight where the card was garbage. Top Rank has the garbage undercards. Even Arum admits he doesnt care about the undercard because the average boxing fan doesn't either. Thank Mayweather promotions and Golden Boy for looking out for the REAL boxing fans who care about the undercard. And this fight, possible Broner appearance, definitely makes for a good undercard. I would LOVE if he put Keith Thurman on there vs a formidable opponent. Kahn vs Thurman? Hell yeah. Winner gets Mayweather shot next? I'd say Kahn vs Thurman, Broner vs Matthsye? Doubt that one will happen but what if it did? Then Mares taking on a champion bigger than him? ****ing stack these cards. That's why Money May is making all the money.
