Comments Thread For: Froch-Groves II is Likely To Land in Nottingham

Carl Froch has revealed the City Ground in Nottingham is the most likely venue for his eagerly anticipated rematch against George Groves in May.

Old Trafford and the Emirates Stadium were thought to be leading contenders for Groves' second shot at Froch's WBA and IBF super-middleweight showdown after a controversial first fight in November.

Froch will win more clearly this time
Groves was dogging him, but Froch was making a comeback
the way the stoppage went down cast a pall on the fight as a whole
Groves will be competitive again, but not as much as last time
expecting Froch to get a tough UD in this one, maybe 8-4
don't think anybody will get dropped in this one either

This fight won't be at the City Ground. It's not big enough.

No groves, he's not the 'sheriff'. He's bigger than that, he's the world champion and what he says goes. deal with it.

Groves still acting like he calls the shots. The kid has balls on him that's for sure. I think he just does it to get under Froch's skin. Worked last time but I don't think it will work again.

if eddie hearn actually wants to follow through with his claims of making "The Biggest fight in British Boxing History" he ain't gonna hold it in Nottingham no matter how much Froch demands it.

TBF Groves was about to be robbed on the cards in the last fight in a neutral venue. Imagine the scoring bias in Froch's hometown…

Agree with both of phatcatboxing posts... If it ends up in Nottingham then Eddie Hearn chats a lot of ****. Think Froch is just trying to play mind games, but isn't very good at it.

Hopefully it isn't at the City Ground. This fight does deserve a much bigger venue.

I think if it does go to the City Ground I think it's showing Froch's mental state is a little weak perhaps & he needs the safety net of fighting at "home" to an extent.

Might be reaching a bit but it's a definite possibility as there's no doubt Froch did not look confident at any stage of his build up with Groves 1st time round.
