And, eventually, it may take a while, Stevenson will be forced to either fight Kovalev as his mandatory or vacate and, I guess, retire.

If Stevenson never fights Kovalev so what? Does it really matter? If the fight never happens Stevenson very likely would have lost anyway because he would have been beaten psychologically before the fight ever began. It is a common rule that champions are supposed to take on all comers, and when they won't, well, why should we regard them as champions at all?

A champion, if he truly is one, should say: "I will fight all of you. Just give me the time. I cannot fight all of you in one month". Wladimir Klitschko has done this. Who has he not fought or is not willing to fight? Who? Kovalev appears to be the same type of man as he has stated he truly wants to fight everyone and anyone without condition. Like it or not, Adonis Stevenson has not made the same unconditional claim.
I disagree you show any champion that's never really made any money a good contract and they'll fight anybody...ITS CALLED PRIZE FIGHTING

If HBO is serious about wanting this fight then they need to fork over more money

First of all, we're not calling anybody bad names like he does. He rips [Kovalev's] trainer [John David Jackson]. Its disrespect for the sport I think. Again, talking is cheap. [Ismayl] Sillah was also talking some stuff to Sergey and look what happened.
Uh, Sergey did a **** load of trashtalking himself against Ismayl. And stuff a lot more mean spirited than what Stevenson said.

HBO has to make this fight happen and I don't blame Stevenson for wanting to make the most amount of money possible in case he loses. Nor should any of us blame anyone for trying to maximize their money. As far as "chins" go. They are good fighters but the fact remains, they have both been knocked out. They have fooled us into believing they are so superhuman when neither has proven themselves yet in reality by their competition. Stevenson was Ko'd in the pro's and Kovalev was ko'd right before he turned pro in 2008. check out this video of Kovalev being knocked out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEHA...e_gdata_player
Once they fight, then we will know and I hope it happens. In regards to this manager talking for Sergey, he has been in jail for really bad crimes and has had several dui's. He won't be making the trip to Canada if Sergey fights Stevenson anyway as Canada won't allow him in. Don't believe, check. He wasn't there when Sergey fought Silakh and he has been at every other fight.

Not calling anyone bad names, he must have FORGOT that Sergey called African Americans these names in print and video: "pureblood nig**rs", "sunburnt guys", "inadequate", "abnormal". This manager has selective amnesia. Not okay for Stevenson to call them bad names but it's okay for Sergey to say complete racist statements about ALL of the African Americans. I dislike hypocrites! (p.s. for you fools that always think I am black, I am NOT black. I do not like racists!)

This is like Danny Garcia vs Lucas Matthysse all over again. People swore up and down what was going to happen in a fight and had such big mouths and egos and look what happened after... As much trash people are talking they better hope their fighter wins because its just going make you look ****** if he doesn't. Remember, people gave Garcia ZERO chance vs Lucas. Lucas was like the ****ing terminator.

Other than the HBO officers, who knows how much has been offered? As we may presume the offer will not be ridiculously low, and Kovalev seems ready at the drop of a hat to accept an offer, why not Stevenson? That alone should suggest to us who has the condor and confidence of a champion.

Who could have predicted Lucas Matthysse would suffer an eye injury, be forced to fight with one eye and one arm (because he was protecting that eye)?
