Ali fought and beat Liston, Frazier, Foreman and Shavers...All known by history to be big punchers (Some out there even say Shavers hit harder than Mike...) none of them knocked him out cold. I understand that a young Tyson had the ability to KTFO of most people but against a great such as Ali? I don't really see it. It is possible that Tyson could have knocked out Ali, very possible but I don't see it.

Mikes only real chance would be to knock his head off and Ali repeatedly showed that he could avoid that happening to him if he wanted. Mentally Ali would beat him too coz Mike showed that he wasn't all that strong mentally from time to time whereas a very young Ali twice handily dealt with Sonny Liston whilst being admittedly scared of him.

Can you imagine the Tyson that fought Trevor Berbick vs the Ali that beat Cleveland Williams?

1986 Mike Tyson vs 1966 Muhammad Ali...Man what a fight. I'd go with Ali.

ali is the very definition of GOAT. but looking back at the ali vs. frazier 1, i think tyson wins against ali. the tall dude had difficulties with frazier's pressure, bobbing and weaving and that killer left hook.

Ali has never been K.Oed ! he has one of the toughest chins in HW boxing history ! and he would easily beat Tyson via UD or K.O, Tyson didn't have the stamina to fight for 15 rounds

Yea, just like Green, Tillis, Tucker, Bonecrusher Smith got knocked out cold!!!

Did any of these have a better chin, defensive smarts or will to win than Ali?

I'm struggling to find the great heavyweights Tyson defeated which suggests he would give Ali 'hell'.

It is funny, but I agree with the general consensus that Ali would beat Tyson. He was too fast and too good a boxer.

Tyson would likely land some wicked body shots but not too many significant shots to the head.

Granted, Tyson was a beast in his own right but when he was destroying guys in the mid-late 80s, none of them were anywhere near as good as Ali. In fact the division ****** badly. Holmes was washed up.

If Joe Frazier could trouble Ali, so could prime Tyson. It's pretty ridiculous and biased when some people here say Ali would just cruise to a UD.

                  Both were beaten

If henry Cooper could hurt Ali then so could tyson

Tyson was ferocious in the first 4

If he didn't get the ko it would be a long. Night

Butrunning aaround would. Play to. Tyson hands because of leverage

Ali was beaten by Norton too so he definitely isn't unbeatable but he has a good style edge

But this is boxing, you. Never know until it happens

Ali wins easily in Frazier and Foreman he was able to beat better men than Tyson, if Foreman who was bigger puncher than Tyson and managed to hit Ali clean several times and not KO him and the Left hook Frazier dropped Ali with i dont think many other heavyweights in history get up from let alone get up and fight back were not powerful enough to put Ali away no one could. Ali was almost superhuman and he could hit as well when he decided to plant his feet, he was for me by a mile the greatest fighter in heavyweight history and ruined every kind of opponent possible over a few decades, Tyson was a very good fighter in a weak era, who got found out when someone got in the ring and fought him back. When i think back how much trouble James Tillis gave Tyson and also the fact he could not even get past Mitch Greens jab, not to mention what Douglas did with a good jab and a strong right hand then anyone thinking he could get past the fastest jab and combo puncher of all time is deluded, Ali who for all his flashness was also one of the toughest SOBs to every get in a ring.
