Glad to see them talking about another date for Rigo finally. My big question is who they getting to fight him ?

You really don't have to explain much to me. I say this with no flagrant intention of hurting feelings. I understand what boat Rigo is floating in.I'm not trying to taunt you, I'm explaining part of his predicament. There's nobody other than Santa Cruz that's appealing to a network, especially with the purse both guys would be expecting. Maybe Kiko, but IIRC they tried, and he didn't want it. TR is the only game in town if he wants to get paid and does not want to adjust his style. At least they have these Macau shows and PPV undercards they can stick him on.
It's bs that Rigo has to endure this treatment, but hey, many here feel that he is deserving because of the horrendous style. Or was it cause he don't speeky much eengleesh? Or is it because many feel they will lose?Comment

It's all those things: his style and fan appeal, his weight class, lack of English etc. The numbers don't lie. But he's had it pretty good so far in terms of money and opportunities. Being shut out from HBO is a setback no doubt, but as long as he gets his minimum via Macau or whatever he's in a better spot than all the other 122ers, maybe even Santa Cruz who probably hasn't ever sniffed 500k or a main event. You really don't have to explain much to me. He's had it pretty good? Beg to differ, he deserves every cent he's gotten. It's all those things: his style and fan appeal, his weight class, lack of English etc. The numbers don't lie. See that is what's happening here. Everyone is fixed on a how this relatively new fighter has been lucky to have had such glorious financial opportunity. BS.
Rigo has earned every dollar.Comment

- got a well chosen interim title bout in 7th fight on Pac PPV undercard. Underperformed and made it ugly
- still got a full title shot in his 9th fight, against Haymon client Ramos. When do Haymon clients get unwinnable fights in 1st title defense?
- couple of televised warmups
- got a shot at p4p Donaire in his 12th fight, for like 2x+ Mares' highest purse at the time. wanted a warmup first, so they got credible contender Poonsawat to sign on short notice
- passed 2x on fighting brawler Avalos, one time cause 300k was not enough, so they found a willing and credible opponent for an HBO main event
Very few fighters get these opportunities so quick, especially non English speaking Cubans with a boring style in a division nobody cares about, with no interesting comp. Lara fights in a much more interesting division, beat a bevy of contenders, still no real title shot and no main event, much less as A-side. He's probably not made 750k career wise lolComment

You seem to prove my point. He had plenty hype coming in to the pros. The argument was whether he'd be able to sustain or not. He has, no? Language, color, out of ring antics, is all irrelevant to me.- got a well chosen interim title bout in 7th fight on Pac PPV undercard. Underperformed and made it ugly

He deserves every ****ing dime he's won because he keeps WINNING, fuck what you feel he deserves. Not that I give a **** about what he makes. Like I said earlier, show me the best vs the best.Comment

You must know things don't work like that in the business. Even if you don't, let's hope Rigo does or he could get marginalized even worse. Cause I bet he cares a lot about his purses and probably wouldn't get out of bed for an NBC Sports purse, or even a Lara purse. You seem to prove my point. He had plenty hype coming in to the pros. Still haven't told me who this top comp is, that Rigo is being denied. AFAIK other than GBP guys (is Santa Cruz), anyone worthwhile was already given offers on Rigos behalf or not ready like FramptonComment
