Former WBO Oriental flyweight champion Richie Mepranum scored a stoppage over Thailand’s Phupha Por Nobnom in General Santos City on Saturday when Phupha didn’t come out for the 5th round.
The Thai fighter quit after taking what boxing writer Edwin Espejo reported were “several mandatory counts in all the rounds he lasted, even taking a knee on at least two occasions to avoid the onrushing Mepranum” who is managed by Maasin, Sarangani Mayor Lopez.
