Did Miguel Cotto work his up to 154 lb properly or is he a lazy welterweight?

You know how Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather, and Shane Mosley always stay in shape?

Does Miguel balloon up in weight in between fights?

Did he move up in weight for the right reasons? Is he properly working his way up to 160?

miguel is a money man, he already fought the best at 147 and wanted to move up. now he's so accustomed to fighting there he doesn't want to move down to 147 again.

Cotto could still make 147 if he really wanted to,,,
Its alot of work, and manny had him shook, so they went up in weight at 154,, but i always thought he just didnt want to make 147 anymore,, Oscar was a much better fit for 154 and couldnt make 147, but i think cotto could still go to 147, his problems would be going any further than 147...

would have loved to seen cotto vs maidana, ghost, ortiz, broner, khan, thurman, bradley, manny 2 with no CW,,, those are all great fights,,,

The word "lazy" should never be spoken in the same sentence as the name Miquel Cotto

Dosen't really matter how he got there he is still to small to beat the biggest and best at 154 no matter if he does everything right in adding weight. Trout fight showed it.

Cotto has a good jab and makes the most of his short reach by timing and stepping in with it but against bigger men with better reach that also can take his power when he gets in... It's hard to solve that problem.

luckily for him, martinez is a small MW. But Cotto better make sure he's in shape, instead of ballooning and making sure he's 159 he should train hard and come in more closer to 154-156. And i like this fight but Cotto should be moving down not up... dude is a natural WW.

Would like to see him fighting guys like Guerrero, Marquez, Bradley. Not sure why they never talk about marquez vs cotto

because cotto is adamant at staying above 147. its quite a shame really, he's such a huge draw and throwing cotto into the 147 TR mix alone would quiet alot of people who hate top rank
