Is Muhammad Ali too cliche for this thread?

Not at all. In my opinion saying the likes of "Cotto" or "Golovkin" is cliche and a bit immature. I'm not trying to be a d.ick but it would make one believe that people here barely started watching boxing less then 10 years ago.

Like all time fearless fighters and Golovkin? Dudes only been boxing for like 2-years (give or take.)

I think most of us assumed this thread was discussing current and active fighters, not all time greats/hall of famers and such.

I agree with you. Cotto could have taken the easy road like other top draws. He could have ducked certain people and still be undefeated. He gets into fights where he has no advantage over the opponent, and fights anyone. It still amazes me how much hate he gets. Duran would be in there. And paulie for sure. Also although im not a fan Margarito would fight anyone.

Don't kid yourself, Pacf*rts; Pacquiao is even more guilty of cherry picking than Mayweather is. Avoided Guzman at 130, avoided Campbell at 135, and he b*tched out of fighting Yuri Foreman because he was "too tall" (goes on to fight a shopworn, inactive Margarito who's of a similar height.)

Only when he had nothing to lose and everything to gain. He ducked Rodolfo 'El Gato' Gonzalez when he held a portion of the lightweight title, and he walked away from fighting Antonio Cervantes.

I agree, although he didn't rematch Foreman. I would add a lot of guys: Durán, Monzón, Hearns... There were days when the fighters didn't have muchh room for ducking...
