Not to defend GB, but I think the blame lies on both sides. His career for the last year or whatever as been poorly managed/promoted. Bob Arum says a lot of things, but he's absolutely right here, Amir Khan's name is being misused and he's become a laughing stock.

I think this Mayweather fight **** has been poorly conducted. GB are otherwise solid promoters, the least they can do is salvage the situation. Just announce a fight already and direct the other fighter appropriately.

I agree,GBP has not treated Khan right and have made him a bit of a joke..His name does not belong with May's bottom line..He should have been pushed to fight Alexander Lopez Porter or somebody more in his own level..Then if he would have won start talking about him with Floyd..He has not beat a dangerous opponent in over 2 yrs..This is getting crazy,GBP needs to do something for their guy..

golden boy has done everything right by amir khan. He would have fought floyd last year instead of the ghost had he not got knocked the **** out. bottom line, khan will still get the floyd fight in 2014 unless danny garcia decides too fight floyd, because those are the only options for mayweather at gbp

Would have to agree. They have no control over Floyd but Golden Boy needs to protect their guy and letting him fly off the handle on Twitter is really hurting him right now.
They should have been more upfront with him and not let Floyd dictate so much to a guy they have a lot of $$$ invested in. There appears to be some trust issues between both sides now.
I think they dangled the Floyd carrot to get Khan to sign with Golden Boy over Top Rank a few years ago and after his losses it was now or never to make it happen.
By their comments following the Canelo fight it appears Floyd, Floyd Sr., and even Ellerbe were on board and talking about Khan like he was next. What changed was they heard the backlash from boxing fans and then Maidana became an acceptable cherry pick after beating Broner...

Khan has gotten more publicity from just being mentioned as a floyd opponent than he has for any victory. Gbp did a phenomenal job on this. They attached his name to floyd when he clearly didn't deserve the fight. Withoit this there would be no espn articles, no attention.
