Even if every fighter had the capability to be a fantastic defensive boxer the skill differentials would still mean that some would be better than others - why would boxers not then attempt to use whichever style or technique offered them the best chance of winning...all very well being healthy into your 40's (and the majority of boxers, whatever their style remain so) - but if you never win a fight because you try to fight defensively when it doesn't suit you and are still fighting for 5K purses what's the point?

Let's say Floyd had to fight a clone of himself - do you think he'd avoid going roughhouse, and turning it into brawl if that's what it took to get the win?

Why you saying everyone who likes exciting aggressive fighters 'hates' boring (your words) fighters? Plenty of people like both - in fact even most who don't like defensive fights don't 'hate' the fighters, but are simply indifferent to them.

That's kinda what creates boredom. Indifference. Not caring. Almost the opposite of hatred in fact.
