    KnOcKoUt -or-DECISION?

What homeruns are to baseball, a knockout is to boxing.....for me, Id rather see a homerun than a base hit and Id rather see a fight won by knockout than by a decision.

As a fan or a boxer, what outcome do you prefer best.....a knockout or a decision in boxing?

I think we all would just like to see clear cut winners whether they are by KO or DEC.

Realistically, it is hard to NOT "want" to see a fight end by some sort of stoppage.

I personally don't like seeing the knockouts where guys are having sesuires (spelling?), eyes rolling back, head's bouncing off the mat, and Codrington type of stuff.

I just appreciate a clear winner.

If a clear winner is what we all ask, then it has to be via a KO. Of course there are always lucky punches. But KO's leave no doubt as to who is left standing.

Nowadays that boxing has become somewhat corrupt and bad decisions are not rare, a KO will be a convincing statement that a fighter didn't recieve a mere gift from the judges.

I like decision sometimes, becuz the fight is longer and more entertainment.

But if ma fav fighta is fighting, I like KO as victories so no robbereies. LOL!

While I agree that fighters shouldnt suffer damage such as seizures or worse as a result of a knockout, there is something to the way a fight is won....why else do we count the amount of knockouts a fighter has won fights by? I prefer to see a fighter figure out how to break a guys defense and end the fight.

Additionally, a knockout isnt always by way of a head shot....body shots knock guys out also. Ever see a fighter get hit with a left hook to the liver? Painful...crippling and paralyzing, almost always keeps a guy down and out.

I love seeing late KOs but I don't have a specicfi preference as long as it is a good fight and a fair decision.........I don't mind watching good technical boxers fight for 12 rounds.

the KOs I prefer are as mentioned by BOXERJOSH...the ones where guys eventually break the opponent down and land the correct shots to finish the fight...whether he goes down to a single well timed punch, a combination, body shot, etc...

not what DOES make boxing compelling is that a fighter can be losing and come up with a come from behind haymaker...I do not dispute that at all...

I guess just a lot of those fatal looking KOs are a little much for me to WANT to watch...like hitting a ragdoll hanging on the ropes directly on the chin 5 extra times...but in this kind of sport, one cannot predict that...

overall, I just want a good fight, clear winner

I will tell you this though, as a fighter myself, the longer Im in the ring..the more chance that I have of getting cut or knocked out myself, so taking a guy out by knockout eliminates the odds of me getting stopped and losing the fight. Just my perspective.
