  • Comments Thread For: DeGale: Froch Past His Best, Groves Rematch is 50-50

James DeGale believes IBF and WBA super-middleweight champion Carl Froch has already seen his best days as a fighter.

Froch will renew his rivalry with arch-nemesis George Groves when the pair face each other in a rematch on May 31 following last year's controversial stoppage win for the Nottingham man.

And DeGale, who fights the undefeated Gevorg Khatchikan on March 1 ahead of a WBC title eliminator against Badou Jack later this year, believes Froch is now past his prime.

Froch may be past his best but he's not done yet. And George is coming on. DeGale has a sound opinion, this fight is close.

The ref helped Groves have a better chance in the rematch as Groves was saved so prematurely from a beating and wear and tear. So much so that when groves talks to Froch he is wondering if Froch will ever be the same after the beating Groves gave him.
The ref saved Groves for another day.
So its looking much better for Groves than it could have been. He could have been a Bute.

          Disagree strongly with this.

I hope the bookies agree with you though.

Froch will win the rematch. The first round really messed Froch up, the fact that he could battle back like that getting pasted along the way speaks volumes. If he avoids that first round problem this time, he wins.

lmao at this ultimate internet tough guy. He gave me an "infraction" for giving him Red K in response to giving me Red K for no reason whatsoever. Watch out for this badass people! He's dangerous!

This is like the third or fourth article that I've read, where someone has said that Froch has seen better days, or his best is behind him. When I read that, all I'm hearing is people ****ting on Groves performance.

Basically what their saying is, Groves you're ***** and the only reason you were winning is because Froch is past his best days. That's what I'm getting from this. And if Froch has seen his best days, well he sure in the hell did a good job of defeating Bute and Kessler as a has been.

Groves just has Froch's number. It's a bad style for him, similar to how Ward is a bad style for him. Groves has quick hands with some pop. Taylor also troubled Froch and he was considered "green" around that time, so I'm not sure why everyone is stating that he's seen better days. He's only had wars with Kessler. The Abraham, Mack, Bute fights were pretty easy, didn't take that much punishment. He really didn't take much punishment against Ward and Dirrell, he was simply outboxed. So I'm not sure what everyone means when they say he's seen better days. How about we just give Groves his props for fighting the best possible fight against Froch.

Mutilate? Yeah Groves really "mutilated" him in their fight by running all night.

I knew as soon as I logged that comment you'd be along to blast it.look I ain't a fan of either, but Degales face is made of a substance other than flesh and skin,it shreds easier than that cheap loo roll you buy from the 7-11 store for less than a pound.

DeGale is always gonna have these issues throughout his career.

I'm certain Froch stops DeGale.Groves out points him, both mutilating enroute.maybe I'm wrong about DeGale,to be honest I doubt we'll see him against either anytime soon,Froch likely never.i don't see DeGale beating Bika, and to be perfectly honest,I doubt Bika will still have the belt in the fall, when DeGale or Jack have the other out of the way.i can see Him being dethroned beforehand.
