    No he didnt

GBP said he had the Floyd fight int he bag, verbally told him that he would be fighting Floyd next, thus in certain words shud not proceed with the Devon fight

2 months later Floyd sent him a contract

Why wud he fight Devon when he's been told by GBP that he has a fight in the bag and a contract is handed to him

Use a bit of common sense here, GBP are the ones who negotiate the fights, they were the ones who decided fighting Devon was pointless and a risk

They could have easily made the fight happen, thats Richard Schaefers job. They didn't anticipate Maidana beating Broner

Translation: Amir, come to Top Rank. So I can throw you in with the Provodnikovs, Rios, and Alvarados of the world in can't miss action fights and ruin what's left of your career.

Arum is a snake, 99% of the promoters out there are snakes, that being said, It's wrong what Mayweather is doing to everybody that is waiting for him or on his decision. We can talk all day about non topic things like who's a better match up, did Kahn duck anybody, is he begging, what if, why, who..... all of this doesn't take away the fact that it's wrong to offer somebody (anybody) a shot, only to leave them hanging this long. It's plain and simple, not a good thing to do to ANYONE period!

That's true, it's his fault completely. I even wonder if that's why its a deciding factor for mayweather "Should I fight this guy that sat and waited and had the nerve to solidify himself as the one to fight me before I even made my decision?"

It's a tricky situation. Khan doesn't deserve it at much as maidana but khan would give Floyd more trouble than the much slower flatfooted maidana. Both fights suck to be honest.

Exactly! Not only was Kahn hoping for a fight with Mayweather, but he also didn't want to risk looking bad or even possibly losing to Alexander or whomever in the meantime. He gambled on waiting out the big payday and may have lost, because he doubted himself. Why would anyone turn down one fight in hopes of getting a bigger fight without a guarantee? Mayweather STILL hasn't said who he's going to fight next! You may have played yourself, Amir.

Are you saying that there is no place in boxing for "cant miss action fights?"

Why are people killing Khan for bypassing Alexander because he thought he had a Floyd fight in the bag? Bradley did the exact same thing. He bypassed Khan because he had a shot at Pac promised. Floyd simply had an unexpected, better option open up. Personally, I don't think Khan was ever Floyd's first choice. I think that Floyd wanted the Garcia-Matthysse winner, which is why he had that fight on his undercard. He, like the majority of the boxing world, anticipated a Matthysse win. And Matthysse had more buzz than anybody in boxingheading into that fight. Danny messed it up. But I think Floyd likely wanted Danny. But Danny turned it down, which pushed Khan to the forefront. But Maidana did what he did and made himself a more attractive, likely more lucrative, and easier opponent than Khan. So of course Floyd is jumping on it. All that's going on now and taking so long is he's trying to convince and come up with enough money to throw "lil bro" to get him to step aside and get this easy money.

Arum has been doing the same thing to Mayweather that he accuses Mayweather of doing to Khan for four years. I am sure most of the people on this message board have block it out of their minds, but I vividly remember the phony countdown clock that Arum created for Mayweather to sign to fight Pacquaio in a fight that was never negotiated and never planned (Arum had already planned to pit Pacquaio against Margarito); I remember the phony investors Arum claimed he was talking to about a Mayweather/Pac fight. I remember the phony stadium that Arum was planning to build. I remember when Arum said Pac could not be ready to fight Mayweather in May because of his eye injury.....until Arum got word that Mayweather would be going to jail. Then he was ready to schedule Pac/Marquez in May. When Mayweather became available, suddenly Arum needed to build an outdoor stadium to host the fight.

Floyd Mayweather didn't tell Amir Khan to back out of a fight with Alexander. Khan did that on his own. Khan has no one to blame for his present situation except himself.

Ahhhh, no. But I don't think that's exactly the way to maximize a fighter's potential.
