  • Comments Thread For: Martinez: I Told My Team To Accept All of Cotto's Terms

In order to reach an agreement, WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (51-2-2, 28KOs) admits that he was forced to bend and eventually ordered his team to accept all of the outstanding demands that were made by former three division king Miguel Cotto (38-3, 31KOs). Both fighters appear to be on board with a June 7th HBO Pay-Per-View fight at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Is this fight at 155 catch weight? If so it'll be a damn shame if its for the legit Middleweight Championship, that should only be won @ 160lbs.

Before all the hate - Cotto was subject to the same stuff, he earned the right to play mind games - Manny amd Floyd put him through hell during negotiations, its all a mind game.

Three things I'm almost certain of for 2014: Martinez whoops Cotto. Loma whoops Salido. GGG remains undefeated if he doesn't move up.

I am really a fan of both fights, but I'd like to see Martinez get this and move on to a big fight with GGG for his long standing legacy.

Cotto will get a big Canelo fight regardless.
