He didn't take the biggest fight of his career seriously, so I doubt he'll be 'up' for this or any future fight. Its a shame, because he's not a bad boxer. Its discipline that's a recurrent issue.

Incorrect. Star power does not equate greatness.

Chavez Sr. is an all-time great and a legendary fighter.

Chavez Jr. is a legit boxing superstar, the second generation of his family to claim that status.

    See the difference?

Then he must go to 175. The problem is he will not be able to KO ANYONE at 175 and guys like Stevenson, Kovalev, even Shumenov and Tavoris Cloud would murder him.

hahahaha no ****. He has the opportunity to be so much more and just wastes it by not taking it seriously.

Why doesn't he just fight at a weight that suits him? Sounds like he's a LHW not a SMW or MW these days.

By Jake Donovan - If you’re concerned about Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. once again missing weight for his March 1 rematch with Bryan Vera, you are not alone. The once-beaten former middleweight titlist is as concerned as anyone else, though his worry carries far less doubt than those with skeptical views.

“I really hope I make the weight limit,” Chavez Jr. quipped Tuesday evening following a training session in Mexico. “I don’t want to have to give up $250,000.”

The aforementioned figure is the penalty in place, in the event that the second-generation superstar fails to make the contracted 168 lb. limit for his rematch with Vera, which will air live on HBO from San Antonio, Texas. [Click Here To Read More]
