Comments Thread For: Andre Ward: We're Being Force Fed That Golovkin is a Star

Golovkin is an exciting boxer and bringing the excitement back into boxing. There aren't many boxers to get excited about nowadays and Golovkin is a nice addition. Ward on the other hand may be undefeated but he is horrible to watch.Comment

Exactly.
Ward is jealous of Golovkin, who is everything he's not: an exciting fighter who doesn't need to resort to illegal tactics to win and a fearless warrior who will fight anywhere.
Ward is afraid to fight outside California, he had to have all his Super Six fights in his home country. Golovkin came from the other side of the world to be a star in America.Comment

I think ward is frustrated that Hershman is giving GGG the big push because he fights for less money than Ward does. Ward has watched HBO give GGG a top 5 p4p spot he doesn't deserve and has watched HBO market him as this fearsome warrior.Exactly.

More insulting, HBO protects GGG from losing to Ward-Lampley goes on air, in front of ward no less, and proclaims ward v ggg isn't a fight we want to see.
Ward has every right to be frustrated at what is going on. He's the better fighter of the two and the new HBO president Herschman wont let him show this to the world because GGG is cheap labor that fits into HBO's plan to reduce its boxing budget.Comment

Can't get mad at HBO for trying to run a business. To be honest, HBO will get more "**** for the buck" with GGG and will provide them a better rate of return as oppose to Ward who is probably more expensive with a small fan base.I think ward is frustrated that Hershman is giving GGG the big push because he fights for less money than Ward does. Why is Ward complaining? This is one guy making too much money. I can't believe he made millions for that Edwin fight.....Golovkin on the other hand comes out and lays it on the line for peanuts (relatively)
Ward is jealous of Golovkin's fandomComment

Would Ward be willing to move down to 160 for Golovkin?I think ward is frustrated that Hershman is giving GGG the big push because he fights for less money than Ward does. Ward has watched HBO give GGG a top 5 p4p spot he doesn't deserve and has watched HBO market him as this fearsome warrior.

Will the Son of Goat demand the fight be in California with a ref who let's him headbutt and hit while holding?
Loeffler isn't ******, he won't agree to all the demands of the prima donna Ward.
If Ward wants the fight, he has to compromise. He's far from the biggest draw in the sport.Comment

In all fairness, it's much easier to beat the best when you have the opportunity to fight in a tournament, where your pretty much guaranteed to fight the best, barring any injuries. I wish there were more S6 tournaments where we can find out who the best are in each division so fighters aren't "ducking" or are promotional issues etc. Not a knock on Ward at all.Comment
