Most boxing fans have been dumb. Like Winky Wright once said "Its called boxing not knock outs".
    I instantly thought

"its called baseball, not home runs." in the same sort of analogy. I love going to baseball games, SF Giants games are usually eventful/cheerful, and its not always an exciting game and there's not always home runs.. but when there are homeruns/back to back runs being scored its a great feeling.

Yes but those eventful baseball games are eventful and bavk and for leads. As in boxing a great fight one fighter takes over than the next guy makes a comeback and so forth what rigo floyd bring the equivelnt of a 1-0 game that was 1-0 in the first inning and neither team got into scoring position the rest of the game. But other purist see that floyd and rigo as to them throwing a masterful complete game shut out

It'll get better when Mayweather and Pac retire.

Excellent point. I think posters can't understand the sublime. When agbeko is made to drop his punch output so drastically or when ghost, canelo, nonito stop throwing punches it's not because their opponent is boring. It's because the opponent is so thoroughly beating them that they figure it's best to lose standing up then on their back. You would think boxing fans would appreciate that.

Success is a journey, not a destination. How a fight ends is important, but what happens up to that point is often what determines how we get to the ending.

Boxing is mostly entertainment and nobody wants to see boring fights, they want to see guys fight it out to the top of their ability. In cases like Paulie or Miguel Vazquez, they have pillows for fists and have no choice but to fight the way they do, but there is nothing worse then fighters with hammers for fists play it safe in an unwatchable display of fainting or holding for 36 mins

Too many mismatches in the making. JMM-Alvarado isn't that interesting of a fight. Neither is Cotto-Martinez really. We should be getting fights like GGG-Martinez, JMM-Prodnokov, Floyd-Pacquaio. I just don't see where we are getting the fights that have relevance. And boxing is taking a hit because of that.

Da truth is we need another Great Depression to strike fearlessness into the hearts of fighters across the globe.

They also let the whole boxing world down by not fighting each other.

The boxing world will be a better place when they retire.
