He beats Porter, they'll say he beat a unproven guy, - yes Porter beat Devon, but he is still a unknown entity. Porter vs Khan benefits Porter more than Khan, where as Broner vs Khan benefits both equally, kind of a make or break fight.

This is exactly what's going to happen if this fight will happen:

Khan will win the early rounds with his speed advantage but Porter starts to catch him in the middle rounds. Now he's taking the fight to Khan and is outworking him. Porter drops Khan in round 7. Khan comes up at 7 and is ready to fight again. Porter continues to hurt Khan a few more times during round 7-9 but Khan shows heart doesnt go down and keeps on fighting. Finally in round 10 Porter lands a huge right hand AND DOWN GOES KHAN. He's badly hurt but comes back up. However the ref takes another look at Khan and decides to stop the fight.

If Khan fights Broner now none of those things apply.

Picking up the IBF belt on the other hand gives him a bargaining chip. The winner of Floyd/Maidana would have the WBC and WBA belts and could then have a massive unification with Khan.

You talk as if Belts matter to Floyd, if belts mattered Floyd would have fought Porter, or Pualie a few fights ago. Sorry Floyd by his own admission has said belts mean nothing to him.

Khan needs a win over a name The Ghost would be a name, and a measuring stick to see how Khan does against him compared to how Floyd did.

Put it this way on the undercard if Floyd vs Maidana, which fight looks more appealing to the mass public Port Vs Khan or Broner Vs Khan? The answer is simple Broner vs Khan, and u'd be lying to urself if u stated otherwise

Khan-Porter winner gets Floyd. I'd think Porter wins it too....and then I can finally cheer against Floyd in a fight...I'd love it.

Porter gets inside on Khan and outworks him. Clear UD or possible late stoppage. Good fight though and if AK actually wins, would be an actual worthy opponent to Floyd.
