Comments Thread For: Juanma Open To Facing Top Rank and Golden Boy Fighters

When Puerto Rico Best Boxing recently announced that they were aligning with Golden Boy Promotions to co-promote a March 15th card in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, it served notice that the island's leading boxing promoter's near exclusive partnership with Golden Boy rival Top Rank is a thing of the past.

Juan Manuel Lopez will appear on the card in a crossroads bout against Daniel Ponce De Leon of Mexico. Lopez stopped Ponce De Leon in the first round of their 2008 encounter, but views this as a make or break fight. Lopez was promoted by both PR Best Boxing and Top Rank for most of his career but said that he is open to facing fighters from both Top Rank and Golden Boy, or any other promoter.

In his last fight he looked like the definition of a shot fighter. Ponce De Leon has improved when Juanma has declined. Juanma could be the new stepping stone ala Randall Bailey, big enough name and KO power to build a up and coming fighter

Juanma has never been the same since his two fights with Salido, the spanking by Mikey Garcia didn't help either. I think it is a mental thing with him, because he has skills.

            never liked juanma

But, I've seen him in the gym this time and he looks sharp, strong and with stamina. I was so amazed that I even think he will ko de leon again. His sparting partners are even stronger than ponce and they are sufferinbg from his shots. He got his self back this time and i'm a witness even do I never like him. Good luck on this one even when I 've never consider ponce a great thing in boxing but a mediocre strong one. .

Sad to see Juanma like this. Still can't believe he looked as wack as he did vs Garcia. Even in losing to Salido, he got it rockin but just lost. Against Mikey he looked like a boxer turned dope fiend that gave it one more go in the ring.

Juan Flamenco is don'e. Sad but true. At one point, it was Gamboa vs Juanma is the megafight. Now Juanma is at beg-a-fight status.
