Pacquiao's situation is much different than most fighters. Floyd and Cotto have boxing income and that's about it. They have to maximize it now as they are at the end of their careers. Pacquiao will be President of the Phillipines in the next decade. He will have the political connections to never really go broke.
He doesn't need to break ties with Arum and be a free agent, he doesn't need the headaches as he is already set up well beyond boxing.

How awesome would it be to see all out wars with Pacquiao vs Maidana/Garcia/Matthyse, then a back story fight with Amir Khan /Freddie roach.
