    Junior middleweight contender Alfredo Angulo is going to check Saul "Canelo" Alvarez with hard punches when the first bell rings on March 8th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Angulo is working on speed and landing power punch combinations on the former WBA/WBC champion. Training under the guidance of coach Virgil Hunter, Angulo has sparred many rounds with the very quick Amir Khan.

      Sparring "A-mere Con" will definitely help him prepare for Canelos speed advantage. Canelo may want to call in a Margarito to prepare for being pressured by an Angulo like fighter. Sparring his lightweight brother isnt going to do anything for him. Angulo will stop Canelo. Too much pressure from Angulo, too little coming back from the low volume Canelo.

              Just imagine how Canelo's career would fall if he suffers a KO defeat to Angulo. Angulo is the biggest pressure fighter this kid has ever faced and win, lose, or draw canelo will know he was in with a real fighter when the nights over. This is a great action fight and will probably do decent numbers. I don't think anyone expects this to be a boring fight.

                              Angulo can punch. people sleep on that but the guy has some pop. One question I've always had about Canelo is his chin. he's never really fought a heavy puncher. i'm interested to see how he takes a big shot
