Do you think Maidana is really a monster puncher though? I think he hits hard but isn't as powerful as say GGG or Kovalev (p4p obviously),I think he gets a little overrated as a puncher to be honest-a chinny Khan/old Morales and an old Corley all went the distance with him

I think Maidana gets underrated in other aspects of his game though,he isn't a wild slugger like some people make out

It should be +1000 at least, I know Maidana to win straight up is +700 so a prop bet on a KO win should be even more.

Mayweather via decision is actually not half bad for this fight either, a lot of money coming in on a Floyd stoppage win.

Josesito Lopez went on camera shaking about a year ago and said "Look, Maidana hits harder than CANELO and ORTIZ, I just want to let this out."

But right... then again there is no one in the sport who can hit like Golovkin. He has surreal type of power.

That's another thing people are sleeping on... Maidana has been stopping guys left and right under Garcia. He has improved significantly since then. A more constant use of the jab, a sharper jab, more dynamic combinations.

A lot of people forget... Maidana has only 1 real loss. He lost a controversial split decision against Kotelnik, "lost" to Khan who ended the fight on his bike / physically beat up/ almost fainted after fight.

Funny thing is that if i made a thread saying can Floyd beat Maidana even if he trades a lot and moves less?, i think the Majority would still say Floyd wins.

All opponents of Maidana who came to fight, Ortiz,Lopez,Morales,Karras,Cayo,Broner all eventually got stopped or outworked. Khan and Devon were holding, running and were defensive minded and never traded in the middle of the ring, Khan traded with Garcia and you saw the results. Kotelnik fought more but i always score that 7-5 Maidana anyway.

(Vs Devon, he didn't look like he wanted to even try to fight out of clinches, vs Broner he was, he threw with his one free hand and was going to town on Broner. Porter does the same as well, vs Floyd Maidana hopefully does the same, fight out, be dirty if you have to)


Floyd IMO gets badly hurt if he fights with the mindset of "i can fight this guy up close all fight and fight aggressively as i will make him miss and counter him all night".

Floyd IMO will move a lot, pot shot,counter and clinch. I'm just praying Maidana keeps forcing him to the ropes and throws bombs. Maybe Maidana will make Floyd fight though, Or Floyd never really get into any danger and makes Maidana look silly all night?.

I think Floyd gets tested, hopefully early which changes the fight. If Floyd does dominate then fair play to him because Maidana is coming into this with IMO with the right attitude, the right team, the right game plan and with confidence.

I see him throwing more punches for sure.... Maidana's gonna come at him non stop with dozens of punches, the main mistake Broner made was ridiculously low punch output, Mayweather's gonna have to open up more to keep Chino off him.

I think Mayweather's smartest gameplan would be movement and potshotting.. attempting to slow the pace and fight his fight. No flat footedness at all and keep the fight in the center of the ring. If he really goes into this with a more flatfooted "fight him off me" mentality... man... thats not smart and indicative of an inherent underestimation taking place.

Maidana's gonna have to have a strong defensive guard with good lateral movement to bob and weave his way inside. Hopefully he's in beast mode and throws as many punches as possible.

Also I watched Floyd's mittwork with a close eye and roger got him about three times. Usually all roger can hit is floyds shoulder. This suggests to me Floyd may be susceptible to shots right down the pipe that are at the end of a combination.
