  • Comments Thread For: Chisora Asks Warren To Make Povetkin Clash in Russia

EBU heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora (20-4, 13KOs) has asked his promoter, Frank Warren to get him a fight with former WBA "regular" champion Alexander Povetkin (26-1, 18KOs). Chisora wants to give Povetkin the homefield advantage by taking the fight in Moscow, Russia.

Povetkin has not fought since last October when he suffered a twelve round unanimous decision to WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO champion Wladimir Klitschko. Povetkin's return is being discussed for a date in April or May.

Awesome news.Chisora is the UK stand out heavie no.1 right now.should be a war,I see Povetkin edging a close decision,as long as he is conditioned properly.

Respect to Chisora for being willing to fight everybody. This is an interesting matchup and I hope it happens.

I'm confused. I thought yesterday's card was to set up the Fury-Chisora rematch.

I think Fury and Povetkin believe Chisora is easy pickings for his lofty WBO ranking.expect Povetkin's handlers to offer multi millions to tempt Del,Warren deserves something for the way he's guided Del back up the WBO ladder, carefully managing and selecting opponents.although Del has looked unconvincing along the way,he had a superb performance last night.

Respectable decision but I don't know if this is the fight you want to take before facing Fury again. I'd take a lighter, warm up fight to stay in rhythm and then go a 100% for the Fury fight.

If Chisora is holding the key to the WBO's mandatory shot at Wlad. I hope he fights Fury next. I've already seen Wlad-Povetkin. Have no desire to see it again. I'd much rather see Fury get his try at the champ.

I now have respect for Chisora for picking this fight. Povetkin is no easy task and I pick him to win a decision. Let's see if Chisora can get away with throwing those overhand rights to the back of the head in another country.
