Can Bily Joe Saunders replace Barker?

Kid is being touted as the British fighter to replace Darren Barker in the UK's MW trio

24, WBO international title holder and now evidently going for the EU crown

It would be nice to have a replacement for Baker. The middleweight British trio isn't complete without him.

Needs to stay active and slowly increase level of competition,, winning and defending the eu title would be a great start..

Yeah, he has been way to inactive, plus I don't think he is ready for big name fights yet.. He needs to fight 4-5 times over the next 16 months, I don't think he is a polished product yet..let him stay active vs eu championship level, and some fringe contenders like lee, macklin, etc.. Then look for bigger fights and title shots mid to late 2015

Heard he's looking for a WBO eliminator by the end of the year. If he's up to the challenge...N'Dam is free...don't know if he's ready for that kind of fight yet

                @ dirk killer

not so fast man, what makes you think macklin rolls by quillin? Quillin isn't the best middleweight, but hes far from a bum.

                  I'm 50/50 here.
IMO, Macklin will jump on him and try to pressure him, but he could get hit by the left hook in the process.
I also don't think he looked good against Russ, but Russ is tall and long, so he probably had his troubles dealing with that. I think he was leaping in quite a lot in that fight, then he started using the double jab

spot on hougi it is 50/50, i think quillin's power is underrated. macklin/quillin is really a good fight. interesting because how GGG steamrolled macklin, i dont htink he steamrolls quillin. ik triangle theories are dumb anyway but just sayin
