In his own weight class, sure. But the guy is chinny at 154, he's going to move up and beat top class middleweights? it's not happening.

The Quillin fight can be made before Golovkin one, once Quillin lands - and he will land - it's a wrap.

Lara @160 or maybe a catch weight of 158? He can probably win 2-3 rounds against GGG if Lara gets on his bike, but GGG is a master at cutting the ring, will probably get him in the middle or later rounds and hurt Lara, probably knocking him out between Rd 6-10. Still a good fight though.

I like both guys but enough already GGG and Lara are nothing special or unique at all.

NSB always does this shyt. Where are all the Lucas avys now?

They fight in 2 different weight classes. Pointless debate.

Even with all his inside game defincenies, low volume, etc....there seems to be more evidence available on whether or not Lara can beat pressure fighters than there is available with Gennady against pure boxers at this level. is the evidence relevant here? I don't really know. Personally, it's taken two yrs for me to change my mind about Lara...but even with that, i'm not sure how the williams, angulo style fights would be that relevant to the context of having to up a division as a smaller JMW. ggG isn't exactly slow, he glides around in there and is excellent laterally along the ropes, previous posters have painted the picture perfectly. Angulo isnt that great at keeping pressure laterally on the ropes like Gennady, but he can throw hooks out of either stance and it keeps you in front of him and sometimes u guess wrong and end up running into his shot. it seems like Lara would find himself there a lot. Let's get it on if LAra is still standing after a 154 campaign

Most fighters are still a "threat" as GGG isn't HIGHLY proven. He's shown a good amount of skill, now he just needs to apply it against better opposition.

Although I will say I think GGG can EASILY sweep through this MW division. Martinez is getting old, the rest of champions are afraid. The better fighters, in terms of skill, are at 154.. which is a shame because then GGG will just be a cherry picker who fights 154 pounders. The fights at 160 I want to see besides Martinez is GGG vs Murray/Quillin.

Angulo was landing to the body too. If you're a Lara fan, a Golovkin fight is really not a good one to take, it's potentially very damaging, but most of the people calling for it aren't Lara fans.

I think GGG beats Lara and probably stops him.

Let's put HBO to the side; hypothetically speaking, be honest please, do you GGG fans feel Lara is a threat?
No get it through your empty head.I know that no floats in your head

yeah exactly, it appeared to me that was how he was able to keep him in front of him for long enough to really dig on subsequent shots. idk if GGG can close the gap to that extent because he still seems to need more distance to throw than does angulo, but a combination of his left hook and footwork should keep lara in front of him to pile up damage. but there is a trade off, every time u try to get close to LAra your taking pin point punches as u walk in. Angulo's face wasn't an anonomly, I remember Williams' face following that fight. cuts might be a factor

Some decent points. Stylistically it's interesting, but the step up in weight probably takes the edge of Lara's already average power and obviously he'll be stepping in with the hardest puncher he's ever faced. Objectively, it would be a better competitive fight at 154. As a Golovkin fan, I wouldn't mind seeing this if they can get a date in Monte Carlo if GBP/HBO stand-off persists.

Golovkin's fans think he's the best ever, so obviously not.
