Oscar robbed Pernell and a couple other fighters. Floyd also never fought anyone with a losing record, he always fought them critically acclaimed and coming off the biggest wins so he can steal their momentum. Kostya tzu, Hamed, Mosley, and Oscar including others ducked Floyd when he was at 135.

yep when all else fails pull the race cardNo he's not. If you want to talk about gifts, you should see the one they gave to Floyd in the first Castillo fight. Oscar also got some decisions not in his favor but that's boxing. Who exactly needed to fight each other to face him? I recall him facing most of the top guys in his division.
Nope but even if he was, people from the black power society wouldn't give him the credit he deserves.Comment

Genaro Hernandez: RING #1 SFW, undefeated at 130
Angel Manfredy: coming off win over prime Gatti, was #2 at 130
Diego Corrales: #1 at 130, undefeated, #5 P4P
Carlos Hernandez: Top 10 at 130, future champion
Jesus Chavez: Top 5 at 130, future 2 weight champion
Jose Luis Castillo: #1 130, best Lightweight of his era
DeMarcus Corley: Top 5 at 140, arguably beat Judah in the fight prior
Arturo Gatti: Top 5 at 140
Zab Judah: Top 5 at 147
Carlos Baldomir: RING CHAMP 147, coming off win over Judah
Oscar De La Hoya: Top 5 at 154
Ricky Hatton: #1 140, Top 10 P4P, undefeated
Juan Manuel Marquez: Bullcrap fight at the time, would go on to KO Pac at same weight class
Shane Mosley: #1-2 147, #3 P4P
Victor Ortiz: #2 147
Miguel Cotto: #1 at 154
Robert Guerrero: Top 5 at 147
Canelo Alvarez: RING CHAMP 154, undefeated, coming off win over Trout
All of these are either decent, solid, or really good wins. That's the best resume currently aside from Pacquiao, and it's closer then ever given Manny hasn't actually gotten a legit win aside from Bradley since Cotto and Clottey.Comment

Oh and Oscar isn't greater then Mayweather. No way.
Oscar lost to Trinidad, though it was close. He arguably lost to Whitaker. Lost to Mosley, though he arguably won at least one fight, and lost to Hopkins. He also arguably lost to Sturm. He lost a lot of his big fights.
Now he's still got good wins over Ruelas, Genaro, Chavez, Gonzalez, Quartey, Carr, Gatti, Vargas, etc.
And given he probably deserved the Trinidad fight, and at least one Mosley fight, he's an ATG and lock HOF fighter. But he's not greater then Mayweather. And Mayweather easily has the longevity battle won. He's been one of the top P4P fighters since 1998. That's over 15 years. Oscar was only P4P for maybe half that time.Comment
