he's pretty good ... although i think in the cotto fight, him fighting like that was not really his choice...

Seemed to do fairly well against Mosley. I vote yes.

He's done it numerous times. Not really sure why anyone would question it. Let's just be honest. If we are talking about the technical styles and skills in boxing, there's not much Floyd can't do. One of the most versatile fighters I've ever seen.

He can easily stand and fight, doesn't do it often though. Reason being he can more often than not easily outbox, dance, and pot shot to a simple victory. If he needs to though he's shown it quite a few times that he can stand and trade. Go watch a lot of his older and even some of his newer fights.

Antonio Margarito would have broken Floyd if he tried that. Thats why Floyd didn't want any parts of that.

So that's why Mayweather looked so uncomfortable in the fight against Cotto -- he was in the pocket for too long.

In his subsequent bouts with The Ghost and Canelo he didn't linger in the pocket and as a result he looked comfortable.
And neither one of those guys could hold Cotto's jock in his prime..

Cotto was willing to take the risks it took to make mayweather uncomfortable. Most of these fighters go in there saying im going to knock his ass out, the first combination they throw they get caught with a 1-2 and they're gunshy the rest of the fight. Except for whenever they get desperate again (like guerrero) almost got his ass knocked out in the round floyd threw some right hands harder than ive seen him throw since he was at 140, because the other guy started opening up. Cotto was smart enough and slick enough to dip some punches and land flush on floyd, but then you saw what happend almost got his ass knocked out too. Canelo didn't take any risks to give floyd his chance to shine and really open up like he did to cotto and guerrero in a few rounds. Floyd is always going to take what his opponent is going to give him, hes never going to go for the kill. You saw in the cotto fight floyd almost got him out of there in the 12th, but then realized there wasn't enough time left so he just won the round.

It kind of backfired on Mayweather. He was exchanging more than he is comfortable with, it appeared. And to me it seems that is not his game.

So just how tough and strong is Floyd Jr.?

And could he stand his ground against an in-his-prime Manny Pacquiao?

Personally I like Floyd, but he doesn't appear invincible.

Yes but it is not his go to policy.

He could but would not elect to as this is how Pacquiao would want to fight. Floyd is very smart and would not fight this way until Manny had been broken down.

He's genuinely tough enough. He can exchange if need be. You add his great defensive-offense and you have a 45-0 fighter.
