I'm from the same area of Manchester (Wythenshawe) that Fury claims to have grown up in, and he wonders why he has no local support (he never fights in Manchester, why not? Ricky Hatton did and had 20,000 at every fight before Vegas had ever heard of him, he was proud of his Manchester roots). I'll tell you why Tyson, it's because you have mouthed off before you have had anything to back it up you silly fat wanker. Proper Mancunians only boast when they've achieved something.
I thought Fury was from a Morecambe campsite ?

It's boxing fans man, they're some of the most disrespectful.

They'll happily call high-level professional fighters "bums" like it's easy or anyone could do it.

I didn't come up with the phrase bums but there are fighters that are known as bums. It's a phrase in boxing.

          Which means what exactly?

          A quick search:

The word "bum" likely has its roots in the German language, as "bummler" means a loafer.

So, in boxing, a "bum" would then describe a less-committed athlete.
Joe Louis in his heyday called all his opponents "bums of the month", as he was an easy favourite to win.

The term is also used to describe the lesser athlete in a mismatch situation, even if the lesser is a committed athlete at his level.

In any usage, unfortunately, "bum" is a very derogatory term. In my judgement, and I am sure in that of many others who write on this forum, any athlete who steps into the ring deserves respect.

Surely, such a term is best omitted from our boxing vocabulary.

Fury is far from a bum, he's the future champion. Severely underrated fighter on NSB, the man has balls, a crow pleasing style, charisma, and a killer instinct.
