JMM is in the last part of his career. He needs to make the most money with the biggest fights. A fight with Provodnikov is interesting, but it's not a money earner.
JMM has been making good money over the last few yrs. Your just making an excuse to not fight Ruslan.

I kinda agree. Although I think JMM can win that fight, he would take a pounding from Provodnikov regardless. Both would be there for each other to hit. Provodnikov would also take a pounding. Alvarado is more of a self preservation fight

Jmm will fight Alvarado and be able to fight again. If he fights Provo, he might not be able to, win or lose. Provo puts many miles on someones odometer, just ask Bradley.

Both JMM and Provo both have leaky defense, both hit hard enough, and both are tough enough to derail both their careers. JMM could retire now and I would be happy. I want to see Provo around for a while though.

Maybe he is. I have always been a fan of Marquez and he has fought more than his share of good fighters. He is retiring soon and said he wants only fights that will add to his legacy. He said Provo is a very good fighter but a win over him doesn't add to his legacy. I accepted that but now I read he may fight Alvarado who was KOed by Provo and would do less for his legacy than Provo would if Marquez beats him. If Marquez fights Alvarado I have to think he did avoid Provo. The legacy excuse doesn't cut it. I think he would make as much or more money fighting Provo instead of Alvarado and a win over Provo gets him a world title while an Alvarado win gets him no title and he would be beating a guy Provo already beat.

let us put it this way if you're jmm at age 40 who would you rather fight, provo or alvarado?

          think about it...

i'm a fan of jmm and as we already know he's nearing the end of his career and i'd say he earned at least one duck to close his career.

                  Alvarado probably offers more.
According to Nacho, Alvarado sells more and offers more money
