    LOL!

Funny how this guy makes a ridiculous comparision between a couple of fighters on completely different levels in his initial post, yet is so quick to jump down the throat of someone who he thinks is making a comparision...The irony!

By this admission Pac has defeated two boxing legends. I don't want to offend anybody by calling Pacquiao great, since it seems to offend the haters on this board. But does not that feat make him somewhat great? Even if Erik was, what you all say, a grandpa, wasnt it still a great feat to have been the first to knock this guy down. Y'all haters better recognize that y'all will have to deal with this, and if the Pacman doesn't beat down his way into your acceptance, these "nuthuggers" will definitely try to rub it into your skulls to the brain; and when the time comes that you are all old and are suffering from not knowing who is who, even your own family. You will turn on ESPN classics and unconciously blurt out the words, "hey Pacquiao is on". Keep it real bustas.

The only thing that is common between Duran and Pacquiao is that they have somewhat the same style. Moving head from side to side, in and out and that they both have "charisma". Other than that if you are going to compare the Fab 4 of the 80's (Duran, SRL, Hagler, Hearns) to the Fab 4 of today (Marquez, Morales, Marco, Manny) then the achievements of Pacquiao is closer to Sugar Ray Leonard. And I see Morales as Duran (since he's the only one to beat Leonard). Who's Hagler? Who's Hearns? Not decided yet coz Marco and Morales haven't fought El Dinamita. Hopefully in the future they will.

Kobe Bryant is a great Basketball player. As great as Jordan? Even I would have to say not at this moment. Ask a MJ fan and they will tell you never. Pacquiao is not at the level of Duran at this moment and maybe will never be. I for one would like to imagine what Kobe can accomplish againts Jordan and vice versa but they are not in the same era. Kobe will never be as good as Jordan, not because of skill, but because we will never see them in the same court. If left up to speculation, It is hard to live up to a legend. I would love to see a 130 Pacman againts Duran, but it will never happen, and in the eyes of those who love Duran, Pacquiao will just never live up.

Both started their careers at a much lower weightclass

Duran when he was still Duran stopped at 160-168 when he started at 130lbs.

Pacquiao appears to have filled out and suggest that the buck stops at 130lbs when he started at 108lbs.

                      Duran's Notable fights...

Duran vs. Leonard I - Duran wins a controversial slim margin

Duran vs. Leonard II- Duran quits out of frustration w/ Leonard's
                      style and speed.

Duran vs. Hagler- Duran loses by a UD

Duran vs. Hearns- Duran loses via k.o. in the early rounds

                      Pac's Notable fights...

PACQUAIO vs. MAB- tko's a legend

PACMAN/PACAMAZING vs. Juan Manuel Marquez - Fight ends in a
                      controversial
                      draw!

PAC-MAN vs. Erik I- Pac loses via UD

PACAMANIAC vs. Erik II- Pacquiao brutalizes a legend

Duran and PAC head to head obviously is not even up for debate and comparing PAC's famous opponents to Duran's rivals don't compare either.

One thing that I would say PAC has over on Duran is that k.o. power!

Stamina is about the same, both guys actually seem to get stronger as the fight goes into the championship rounds

                      Championship heart- Even

Overall boxing skills(Offense & Defense)- Hands down Duran

                      Chin- Slight edge to Duran
duran should never be mentioned in the same breath as pac. slight edge in chin to DURAN? HUGE EDGE.
