Cotto is a good fighter, he was good at WW but he was kinda bad at LMW, lost to Trout and only won against friggin Yuri Foreman and 28-6 Delvin Rodriguez, he didnt fight any tough guys at 154 except Trout and Mayweather who he lost to. He is kinda short and has short arms for LMW, at MW against Sergio he will probably put up a good fight for 2 rounds and then gets beaten up by Sergio with his long arms and weird angles.

If SM actually fights GGG after that hats off to him, i wish him the best, Sergio is one of my favourite fighters out there, he will give GGG a very good fight but will take so much punishment and taken out in the later rounds. Anyway looking forward to this fight, this will hopefully shut alot of haters up.
I agree, this shouldn't be a life/death struggle for Sergio. Cotto is battle worn and really a WW.

Why do you think Mayweather refused an 80/20 split to fight Martinez at 150? Why do you think Mayweather went on a 2-year holiday to avoid a man (Paul Williams) that Martinez knocked unconscious in 2 rounds?

Mayweather probably doesn't have 1/3 of Martinez' power, so he had nothing to keep Cotto at bay. Furthermore, Martinez is taller, has longer reach, and is more inclined to throw in combination than Mayweather.

Cotto has made a dangerous move in moving up to 160.

      • This Cotto Martinez fight is huge. I would buy this if it was PPV.

It has that "Big Fight" feel.

It shouldn't but Sergio looks way past it from his last showing, plus I might be the only one but I don't think he's all that he's cracked up to be either way. That said .... he should win and can't imagine him losing to Miguel at 160....if he does he should look at retiring not GGG.

          • if serg sparks out Cotto, doesn't neccesarily mean he's still got it to beat GGG.
