Why does most people here gives ward a pass

I dont think most people here gives him a pass. Ward gets heat in almost every single possible thread.

Ward does fight in California a lot. There's really no dis*****g that. I would like to see him face Stevenson in Canada. That would be a nice event.

Andre Ward should have trumped that moved with the more righteous and legacy enhancing move of offering to fight at 175.

What andre ward is doing now is the same exact thing joe calzaghe is doing. Hiding out at 168 while there are great money and legacy defining fights one division below or above him.

Ward has gotten a lot of criticism on NSB for the past year or so. He was a favorite after the Super Six, but his lack of activity and meaningful wins since had eroded all that favoritism and made him one of the more criticized fighters around here.

Which, even as a Ward fan, I can't get angry about. He is saying a lot of ****** things lately, and he isn't making us forget about it by getting in the ring. It's hard to keep defending him. Is he even in the process of signing for another fight? The guy is an incredible fighter, but he's squandering his prime. It sucks.

Golovkin isn't considered one of the 2 best fighters in the world.

Golovkin fights A LOT. He's in the ring 3 or 4 times a year. It's easy to forget about a fighter's out of ring activities when they are active in the ring.

Golovkin has tried to get fights with the best in his division, so we know he isn't running from a challenge.

Golovkin doesn't say ****** stuff every other week.

Compare that to Ward, who has fought twice since 2011, says a lot of ****** things lately, and as far as we know isn't trying to make anything happen. When is he even going to fight again? Is he trying to make any fight happen?

You know how Khan is heavily criticized for not having a meaningful win since 2011? Guess what, neither has Ward.

So first you say he should've done the righteous thing and fought Dawson at 175. Ok that's fine. Then you say he has legacy defining fights at 160. That makes no sense. By your logic, Dawson made an attempt at a legacy defining fight at 168.

As I stated in my original post, Ward should move up to 175 now but there's no way he should move down to 160.

GGG is doing what he should: He is staying at 160 (unless a Floyd fight presents itself) and unify before moving up. I also believe he is avoiding a fight with Ward because he knows he'll lose.

Ward is stalling. He is staying at 168 although he's already lineal in hopes of getting Chavez Jr. or GGG. I also believe he gets his ass handed to him by Stevenson or Kovalev at 175.

Both men don't want to move up. They both have good reason I might add.

He's pretending the "door is open" because he knows Golovkin isn't moving up.

Regardless of anything else, he's the greatest natural talent in boxing right now. People can criticize his career moves, and there's a legit argument there, but that has nothing to do with his actual skill. People try to lump the two. If you can't see what he's got, then try boxing sometime. Just because he's not booking fights the way you want him to doesn't mean the talent is not there. Same with Mayweather.
