i think that if cubans were allowed to be pro's
they would own PR and Mexico put together.
imagine if Teofilo Stevenson were to have been pro, him Vs Ali that would have been a fight

Deffinitely, they say they can have a champion in every weight class today. You can see that their greats cam compete with everyone esles as is, and they've been cut off for awhile now.

they are missing 50 years of progress. Puerto Rico has been producing, 2 new champions every year, for almost 30 years on adverage (I think, over 40 world champions since the 70s? over 50 in total), so they have catching up to do.

TEO would have gotten WRECKED by Ali. Man, beating 19 year old American kids that LATER went on to be pros doesn't mean much when u are talking about TOP LEVEL professionals. Several top line cuban amateurs made it to the pros and NONE was elite status. Gonzalez, Casamayor, Hurtado, Garbey, etc.

                  I concur.

Ali could have layed on the ropes and fooled with him.

One of the greatest Dominican is probaly Carlos Teo Cruz, who sent Carlos Ortiz to retirement (before he tired for a comeback).
