    Pinoy vs. Mex in UFC

You guys think Brian "The Truth" Vera vs. Tito Ortiz would garner as much attention from Pinoy and Mexican fans as Boxing?

No because when Tito was on a roll in the ufc, he didn't have a huge Mexican fan base to begin with. I also belive its the same with Brian.

Is it true that B.J. Penn is a Hawaiian/Pinoy just like Brian Viloria?

I saw Tito waving the Mexican flag once, I think he came in with Vargas that time. Vera has his Alibata tats on his back and I saw a picture of him with a P.I. flag on his gi.

Thats the **** with American Pinoys man, they don't rep the P.I. so they are not known as Pinoy. Like Brian Viloria wouldnt have really represented the Pinoys if it was not for Pacquiao and all the support he was getting from fans.

Which reminds me... I was at the PAC - Morales fight and wasn't aware that there were several Filipino guys sitting a row behind me to my right side. Anyway obviously I knew they were PAC fans 'cause they were cheering for him, but never looked behind me to see if they were actually filipinos. It was funny 'cause as soon as Pac won they started talking **** about him of how much of a FOB Pac was(In reality it's true, but f'ed up). I'm very familiar with filipino attitudes since I grew up with them since childhood. Alibata you hit it straight on about Viloria, I've known and watched the guy since his early exit from the Olympics and I never once heard him claim to be Filipino, all he would ever say during interviews is that he's Hawaiian. The same thing goes for other Filipino Hollywood celebrities they would all say all kinds of ethnic groups they belong to except being Filipino ?!

I have personally seen these two in person. In fact Ortiz I saw recently in Vegas during the UFC PPV that Vera participated in. I saw Ortiz at a club in Vegas called "TAO" he actually took a picture with my friend. I don't know much about Ortiz's background prior to being a UFC fighter, but if Tito and Brandon were to stand next to each other it would look like a big linebacker next to a big WR. Vera has alot of grappling experience, I think alot of people will be in for a surprise if he actually has to go to the ground in a UFC event. Going back to Ortiz I know just basing on his appearance he is definitely without a doubt heavily on 'roids (which is cheating). Vera looks au natural, he looks very slim for a guy who is 6'2 220.

                    Striking skills - Vera

                    Pro fighting experience - Ortiz

                    Strength - Ortiz

                    Grappling skills - Don't know
