cotto-martinez is not a good fight at all. cotto can't even beat decent fighters at 154, and if you do give cotto any chance at all its only because martinez is old and injured therefore watching an old and injured guy can't possibly be the 2nd best fight in boxing

The best fight = the biggest fight. Cotto is the biggest fight out there for Martinez (or anyone) outside of Mayweather/Pacquaio.

You think if GGG was given the choice between Cotto and Martinez, that he'd pick Martinez?

Martinez does not want to fight him and he never will fight him. GGG has been his #1 challenger for two years. If he was going to fight him he would have fought him by now. A true champion fights his #1 challenger at least once a year even if they think they will lose. I have seen it before many times. Martinez is not a good champion and I don't think of him as the true middleweight champion. Cotto lost his last two fights at 154 before beating an unrank fighter. He has no business fighting for the middleweight title. To me GGG, the guy Martinez will never fight is the real middleweight champion.

Golovkin the #1 challenger for two years? Who was Golovkin two years ago? Two years ago Golovkin had no notable wins. And wasn't Golovkin tied up with his promotional dispute? Golovkin, good fighter though he is, has absolutely no claim to the middleweight championship. He has about as much a claim to it as Marco Rubio. You don't become champion by getting good tv ratings. Especially not when there's already a lineal champion. And according to your reasoning, Golovkin shouldn't be a real champion either because he isn't fighting top opposition. Stop hating on Martinez, he said he'll fight Golovkin.
