I don't know why people think the "it doesn't impact my bank account" argument is so great.

Nothing a fighter does impacts your life directly (or indirectly), but that doesn't mean you cannot take pleasure in his victories or defeats. Similarly, you can find pleasure in how much they make or don't make. Fans can have a vested interest in pretty much anything, including money they do not own. It's not much different than your rooting for your favorite fighter to win and feeling joy (or other emotion). People are trying to draw a line that doesn't exist imo.

I do care about the fighters making a good living in a brutal sport. I'm happy for when they get good paydays for the hard work and risk that is involved.
It's a shame that the fighters have to tip toe around the big risk so they don't lose. And to be honest its the ****ty fans fault because after a fighter lose they get totally bashed and discredited. Fans only have negative things to say, robbery hype bum never beat ne one ect.
