I am a huge Mayweather fan and I have two things to say about this article.

1. I don't buy into the idea that real boxing fans would prefer to see Mayweather fight Amir Khan than Marcos Maidana based on their most recent performances. I rarely call "fix" because I don't believe that is the case 99.9 percent of the time. However, in this case, I think this poll is fixed. Floyd was originally planning to fight Khan until the fans and boxing press began to deride the fight as a joke. As a result, he came out with this poll and I think it is too damn convenient that the mediocre fighter he was going to fight before ends up winning the poll. There is no way that there could be such big difference between the ESPN poll, which has Maidana winning every state and worldwide and the Mayweather poll, which has Khan with a huge lead. I think Mayweather's team has fixed this poll to justify fighting Khan. They can now claim that "this is what the fans wanted."


2. I have purchased every one of Mayweather's PPV fights dating back to the first one against Arturo Gatti. However, there is no way in hell I am paying $65 to see Floyd engage in a glorified sparring session with a journeyman!

Do you not understand what Floyd just said? It's business first, if it was about legacy he would be facing the biggest threats and the best opponents out there. Do you consider Cotto,Ortiz,Robert and Canelo the best possible opponents out there, oh yeh this is boxingscene, a win over a gate keeper like berto or win over a Floyd impersonator in Broner automatically boost you up to p4p status

You need to stop with this nonsense. The best legitimate opponents out there that Floyd hasn't fought are Martinez, Bradley and Pacquaio. Martinez has a contract with HBO, which prevents the fight from happening. Bradley and Pacquaio are signed with Top Rank and, despite the bullship that haters like you have been spreading for the last four years about Floyd being scared, those fights haven't taken place because Bob Arum refuses to make the fights or even to talk to Mayweather's team and GBP about a fight.

Khan would still sell more PPV than Maidana, no way showtime ditch a fight where they would make more money in favour of one where we make less.

Who the hell do you think would pay to see Amir Khan on PPV. If Khan were that popular in the UK, he would fight all of his fights in the UK on PPV. As far as I know, he has not appeared on a single PPV in the UK or the USA.

Do you guys still not get it, Mayweather is not going to fight Manny,Bradley,Martinez,GGG,Lara or any other names you lot throw out there. Floyd doesn't care who you want him to fight and I'm talking about his fans as well, if he truly did care the Manny fight would have been made time ago. It's not about legacy when it comes to Floyd, its always comes down to who can make him the most money

You are a real dumb ass. You talk as if Manny Pacquaio is taking on all comers. When was the last time Pacquaio fought anyone who is not in Top Rank's stable.? His last four fights have been against Rios, Marquez, Bradley and Marquez. His next fight is against Bradley. Instead of those fights, he could have fought Lara, Martinez, GGG, Danny Garcia, Robert Garcia, Alexander, Saul Alvarez or a host of other quality opponents. He keeps mentioning Mayweather's name but has turned the fight down twice. Pac's claim to fame is getting KTFO with one punch by Marquez. That will be his legacy. Mayweather has taken on much better and varied competition than Pacquaio so you and others should stop with this nonsense

I'm a Floyd fan and will say that he is a showman with incredible talent. The showmanship side of him says that he is at a stage where he can fight a soup sandwich and, as long as it is well promoted, it will make him a ridiculous amount of money.

Just as all of us Pacroid haters say that we'll never watch another Packy fight, we tend to be the first ones at the party. We are like monkeys waiting to be entertained.

As much as I like Floyd I think his day is coming where out of no where someone is going to lay him out perpendicular to the deck. In the meantime we'll just have to put up with his "cherry picked" fights and Twitter pics of him going to the bank afterwards.
