British star Amir Khan is on the verge of landing a lucrative payday against Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 3rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The fight will be carried by Showtime Pay-Per-View.

Earlier this week, Mayweather created an official poll for the boxing public to select his next opponent. There were two choices, Khan and WBA welterweight champion Marcos Maidana.

ESPN poll has Maidana up by 20 percent. I think either way Floyd wants and is going to pick Khan. I put this poll out to get justification. Its pretty sad Khan was Floyd number 1 opponent for all these months.
