Originally posted by HendrixYou Pacquiao fans must be insecure about Pac's victory over Barrera. Why is it that you guy's ***** and whine about a fight that Pacquiao has already won "convincely". Barrera is no "joto". Barrera beat Ayala after everyone was thinking Barrera was done, and also won a huge fight against Morales. It's also funny to me how Pacquiao fans talk **** about Barrera fighting and beating Fana, then ***** about Barrera not fighting Sucio,(A guy who lost to Fana). The only bitching I could understand about that and his fight against Peden (which was considered dangerous because of Barrera's age) was the fact that those two fights were on "PPV". Last but not least, Pacquiao fan's call Barrera a chicken even more for moving up to take on Jesus Chavez at lightweight, and try to become the first 4 weight division champ from mexico against an even more dangerous fighter. Barrera has already said he wanted to fight Pacquiao this year but cant now that Morales wants the rubber match. I guess Im gana have to be hearing the "Joto" bull till that day comes. PeaceComment

it wouldnt be pacman breaching the contract. there is nothing saying or implying that the fight would be at 132 lbs. pacman dont care about 2 pounds. hes just doing what morales was doing in the first fight hes imposing his will upon morales the challenger. one of morales moves was to make pacman wear the winning gloves just to mess with him. now pacman is doing the same to erik. neither is scared of the other or they wouldnt have fought twice.Comment

It is difficult to find insight in an article that claims a two-pound weight bargaining chip constitutes a ploy for an honorable exit. I personally find none. Moreover, the article is guessing that it is a ploy for a graceful exit. A guess is not a fact and cannot be considered correct unless/until eventually proven to be a fact.
In most parts, the article narrated how much the author lost in his bet on Erik, how he shifted his loyalties and, then, proceeded to bash Erik. I cannot find any of those in any way correct.
There have been several fights in catch-all weights, and none were ever considered attempts at creating new divisions.
I am among those who find Arum's/ Erik's ploy for a 132-lbs. meeting-- in effect, a proposal to breach a specific term in the return-bout clause-- distasteful but to say that it is a ploy to give Erik a graceful way out is speculation that takes a stretch to substantiate and must be considered as such.Last edited by grayfist; 02-13-2006, 11:58 PM.Comment
