Martinez will fight golovkin count on it. HBO is pushing golovkin hard. They will throw money at martinez to take the fight. The rubio fight isnt gonna happen, hbo has already done this before. They made martinez vacate the wbc belt and it went to chavez jr. Rubio will fight for the vacant belt. And we will see martinez vs golovkin for the lineal title. Theres no way martinez is fighting canelo or floyd.

Martinez is never gonna fight Golovkin. It's just not a fight his team feels is wise. It's a duck imo but it's still never gonna happen. It'll be cotto then Rubio then off to Showtime. Golovkin will not get a Martinez fight. It'll be Murray or Geale if anything at all.

Meh, Murray beat him anyway. I think Murray takes the Golovkin fight if the money is right.

I hope Sergio is hearing stuff like this and is hearing some of the talk about him ducking Golovkin. If he's anything close to normal against Cotto, he'll win and look good doing so, and none of the big money fighters will want to fight him. I think Sergio is a very prideful guy who would take offense to the ducking talk and demand Golovkin.

I hope the Khomitsky rematch was just an off night for Martin - he looked really poor (comparatively). I actually had the fight a draw and coulda given it to Khomitsky if I was looking to.

It made me wonder just how badly Sergio was underperforming/ injured when he fought Murray - or maybe Martin's just a guy who rises to the occasion.

FWIW I'm not convinced Murray beat Sergio, but woulda been happy with a draw, though I think he lost to Sturm.

If he can't get Sturm in the ring perhaps he should fight a couple more fringe names before GGG to insulate him a little against the effects of a probable loss. OTOH a loss to GGG (providing it wasn't too bad) would probably do more for his career and recognition than 3 or 4 Khomitsky type fights for peanuts.

I like Murray, but outside his championship opponents he actually has essentially nothing on his resume.

I'm guessing that a potential eight figure payday with Canelo makes him forget all about the internet geeks calling him a "ducker."

win or lose against Cotto, Sergio Martinez will still have 1 fight left on his HBO contract.

if Golovkin fights Lee and Kirkland, people will demand the fight and they might even be able to have it on PPV. Martinez has said he's open to fighting Golovkin. he even said he views Golovkin as being where he has at when people where avoiding him and he had to work his way up.

Martinez vs Golovkin unification will probably take place in November or December this year. I doubt HBO will have Martinez for any other fight and if the GGG hypes build even more I doubt Martinez will pass up another PPV date.

remember Martinez can't fight Mayweather or Canelo while he's under contract with HBO
I would not be surprised at all if Dibella/Lewkovicz found a way out of the contract without fighting GGG. Canelo has expressed interest in a Martinez fight several times, Floyd is a stretch but still possible. Why would they take very high risk-medium reward fight before they can explore these opportunities? They might sue HBO.

The Kool-Aid Guzzlers are all around on this site!

I mean really who has GGG really beat??? We know the MW division is not like the JR Middle, WW, or even the Jr.Welter division that is loaded with comp.
But again really who did this kid really beat???
His people are calling my guy out like he's some sort of coward. And the guzzlers' on this site are falling for the ko's that GGG has like he's Mike Tyson. Or better yet another Matthyese. We were hooked, & bought into that as well(I for one was a guzzler after he stopped Peterson), and a boxer beat him, not once(Swift) but twice(Judah, & Alexander).
With all that being said, not only will Sergio honor the challenge, he will beat that kid decisively, and prove all you wrong once again.
We don't even know if this kid can take a flush punch, fight backwards, defensive skills, footwork, head movement, or can fight hurt. Sergio his proven he can do all of that, and most of all win while I mentioned all of this traits of a great fighter, not a one dimensional hype machine made up by Jim Lampley, & the rest of the HBO crew!
Like someone said on this site, if GGG is wants comp. Ward called him out on numerous occasions. He declined the invitation at 168.
Otherwise, Just be patient, your A$$ kicking is coming, and you will be exposed soon!

Only on boxingscene where just because a fighter can punch everyone is ducking him. Reminds me of the hype Matthysse had but at least he fought better fighters than Golovkin. Saying Martinez is ducking this guy is ridiculous considering the way Martinez came up.
