To show boxing scores or Not show boxing scores?

I'm pretty sure this issue has been brought up before in these forums. I actually like the idea of the scores being put up on the jumbotron and fans get to see how the judges are scoring the fight in between rounds. What do you guys think?

Your right but I think it'll put pressure on the judges to "not sleep on the job" when you have the whole arena going nuts over "weird scoring"

Answer is no, not completely but it may cut it down.

yeah right robberies would stay the same,
it would make more guys screw around in the last rounds if they have a big lead, and stop the guys who have a small lead from doing it.

So what....

Here's a scenario with the scoring being shown for each round...

If Fighter A is pitching a shutout for 7 straight rounds,

then Fighter B could start cranking it up at the start of the 8th round.

What we usually witness is that Fighter B wouldn't start pushing it till the last round. 'Cause he might think he's ahead or atleast keeping pace w/ Fighter A.

My point is that maybe a fighter who is losing on the cards might start to get that "sense of urgency" sooner than usual if they start to display the scores for each round.

Well It might make judges more honest(although i suspect some are just ******) but it also opens up the posibility that the judges would be influenced by the crowd,which would be just as ****ed.

I think it's an interesting enough idea to give it a shot. Why not try it for a few lesser matches and see what happens? I doubt it would prevent dodgy scoring, but at least a guy who was getting jobbed would know so he could go out there and do what he has to do. Also, it would make clear which rounds were given to which fighter, so you could see clearly when something fishy is going on.

I've definitely seen fights where one fighter clearly takes the first six rounds, but winds up losing on the score cards when he fails to finish the show. While I can see the argument that the guy who's winning the fight at the end deserves the W, the rules say otherwise, and when it happens it pretty much shows that the judges are using both ends of the pencil to make sure things add up right.
