Comments Thread For: Chudinov-Fletcher Eyed For March 22, Says Hryunov

Russian promoter Vladimir Hryunov is already working on a middleweight fight between undefeated Dmitry Chudinov (12-0-2, 8KOs) of Russia and Jarrod Fletcher (18-1, 10KOs)of Australia, which Hryunov wants to stage on March 22nd in Moscow. Earlier this month in Monte Carlo, Fletcher scored an upset twelve round decision over Chudinov's countryman, Max Bursak, to capture the vacant WBA International middleweight title. Hryunov hopes to finalize the deal in the coming days.

Is this the same Chudinov that could only manage a draw with Patrick Mendy?

          Erm....(checks boxrec)

          Yeah, that'd be the one!

I only saw him in his last outing and he failed to impress - a little scrappy, gets hit waaay too much. Not bad, fairly aggressive and heavy handed, just not terribly good either.

I've not seen his brother, Fedor, in action yet (by all accounts he's a heavier hitter but probably no better) but he looks to be outstripping Dmitry (though at SMW) in the KO stakes having gone 9(7) and 0 - there seems to be a tendency to put thm on the same card when they fight in Russia as is the case again in March.
