Honestly, you look at the type of fanbase Khan has. Khan is a celebrity in England not just a boxing celebrity.

I would say a large majority of his fans don't follow boxing a large amount of them probably only know who Mayweather is because of the Hatton fight, they will watch him fight on TV but they couldn't tell you who he beat and how good he was unless it is reported on Sky sports.

To be fair, Boner was only a star because the networks were trying to ram him down viewers throats. The reality is that he was a bit rubbish and got exposed by a decent, hard punching but very flawed fighter in Maidana. A fight with Maidana is as poor and embarrasing as Baldomir, Ortiz and RG....possibly worse when you lump in the fact its going to be on ppv.
