Have to agree with Arum here.

This is what Espinoza said to Dan Rafael in an article last month. Confirming there is no need for them to work with another promotional outfit outside of GBP.

I don't see any virtue of going with a variety of promoters just for variety's sake

Love how everybody paints Arum/Top Rank as the bad guys. Golden Boy was already giving all their fights to Showtime even before HBO kicked them out. HBO help make GBP to what they are today. They help developed and promote fighters, only to have GBP take them all to Showtime.

Why would HBO ever consider working with GBP once they moved Floyd to Showtime?

And espinza assured the cold war lasts forever, you look at some of these 3-4 fight cards, there all GBP fighters and all haymon guys. Some of these cards are incredibly bad, and somehow fans think there good because it's guys they heard of and there's 4 fights.

It's just one big free paycheck for golden boy, that's all esponza does, hand them showtimes entire budget.

If anyone doesn't understand why Showtime threw its weight behind Mayweather than you dont know business. Espinoza knows Floyd is not going to stop fighting after this current contract expires. Any credible threat to Mayweather is gone now. He can fight another 5 years and still retire undefeated. Anything short of Manny catching Bradley and knocking him out is going to be frowned upon. And then there is that JMM problem he has hanging over his head.
