Comments Thread For: Bradley: Pacquiao Rematch is Basically Redemption For Me

Timothy Bradley began his own grassroots campaign for a rematch with Manny Pacquiao well before the two even stepped into the ring for the first time. The unbeaten former 140 lb. titlist was a considerable underdog in his challenge of then welterweight titlist Pacquiao heading into their June ’12 bout, but guaranteed not only a win but that he’s also beat him again later in November of that year.

The confidence stemmed from the belief that a win over Pacquiao would allow his career to soar to new heights and finally call the shots. Instead, the actual win achieved turned out to be the worst thing to happen to his career, taking a split decision in what many regarded as the biggest robbery to have taken place that year or in recent memory. The Only One

Bradley says he knows in his heart he beat Pacquiao. He and his heart are the only ones that think so.

Bradley's definitely a live dog in this fight.

But no, you didn't win the first fight.

Respect he deserves? Why would you get respect for robbing Pac?
If you beat Pac of course you will get respect you deserve. But don't think respect is due to you cos you lying to yourself you think you beat Pac.
People will only disrespect you for lying to yourself.

Getting Redemption Means IN His Deepest Of Heart, HE KNOWS He Lost The 1st Fight

You don't use language like "redemption" if you think you won the fight. Credit or no credit, you don't say this is redemption for me. He knows he stole one, he heard the world rain down on him in displeasure for the blatant fix that handed him a belt. HE KNOWS... that's why he can't formulate or even strong sell his end of this fight. Provo nearly killed him in the next fight; that's what happens when you hand a guy a title who isn't good enough to defend. With drug testing in place he then beat a smaller, slow, 40 year old counter puncher, who wasn't remotely the beefed up guy that fought Pacquiao. Bradley says what he thinks we expect to hear from him, but he knows he lost the first fight and it wasn't even close. That's why there has been a global uproar since.
