The phrase "bum" being tossed about is partly due to PBF using it to describe everyone and anyone in the room...Originally posted by GoldenboyprmGood point, the problem is the word "bum" gets tossed around so much it's ridicolous. Michael Grant fought for the Heavyweight Championship of the world and was an ELITE heavy for a time. That's the furthest from BUM I can think of.
There is way to many non-athletic, lazy punks calling fighters bums nowadays. And I don't think I could ever call a world-class fighter a bum no matter how much I didn't like him. That's ******ity.
Its his idea of self promotion and hyping a fight. To downgrade his opponent. Also people really do not have the brain power required to realise that just because someone loses to somebody that they are not completely worthless...
Dont get me wrong, a loss shows a lot about a certain fighter, but it doesnt mean they are all of a sudden a "bum". I mean if Mayweather lost tommorrow I would still regard him highly and he would probably still figure in my top 10 P4P. I really dont see how someone can go from "great" to "bum" in one fight... people need to widen their vocabulary I feel.
