I would rather watch fmj vs khan then fmj vs maidana.

why is Khan even being mentioned as an option?, did i miss him beating a name fighter at 147 in 2012-13?. Say what you wan't about Lopez and Broner but if Khan had beaten those two in the past year (plus someone like Karass) than it would make sense to me. Khan seems to be living off his 2009-2011 form, which wasn't even at 147.

If it is Khan i'm having problems getting interested because all i can remember is him beating the non famous Carlos Molina in a borefest, going life and death with past his best Diaz at catchweight and before that getting splattered in a few rounds by Garcia. Khan has no momentum, no recent big wins to sell the fight and NO wins at 147.

I'm starting to think that myself. Maidana is way too slow to give Floyd a challenge. Basically he'd have to hope he lands a lucky shot to have a chance. But he has a great chin, and will keep coming at Floyd throughout the fight. The problem with Khan obviously is his weak chin though. If he can somehow take Floyd's punches than he could make it an interesting fight.

Anyway, i sort of agree. Neither of them stand much of a chance at beating floyd, but at least khan would force him to approach the fight differently than he did his last couple. And we might see floyd score a knock out, which is a rare treat these days.
your right canelo does have some speed to his punches . Hes faster then maidana at least , which would make the fight even worse for maidana to take .

again ,, who cares about the reasoning for this fight , its stylistically a better fight then maidana , floyd @ 147 is too fast for maidana .

And there you have it ladies and gents....the death of a beautiful sport.

When fanboys salivate over mediocre matchups we know where things stand.

Otherwise some ppl prefer a fast fighter with a weak chin that has never fought at WW and hasn't looked good vs a puncher that has proven that he can win at a high level at the WW limit. Got it

Don't care who gets the fight. Until the p4p king fights someone worthy I'm not buying his PPVs. Simple as that

From the waist up he's faster than average and exceptionally skilled. From the waist down he's dramatically less remarkable and downright sedate. There were many times during his fight with Mayweather he lost his balance because of Floyd's sudden changes in direction and fell out of position. If you cannot keep up with Floyd you have zero chance of contending with him, as Canelo and countless other slow footed opponents have demonstrated.

JMM gave us the most graphic example. If you don't have the footspeed to control any amount of distance against Mayweather don't bother. He'll always be three steps ahead.
