Arturo Gatti Vs. Jesse james leija

Gatti and leija are getting it on, on the 29th of january, but i havent come accros a discussion regarding this fight.

    Leijawon 47(19 ko's)lost6 drawn 2 tot 56
    Age 38
    Reach 67”
    Stance Orthodox
    Height 5' 5

    Gatti won 38(29 ko's)lost 6 drawn 0 tot 44
    Age 32
    Reach 70”
    Stance Orthodox
    Height 5' 8

Numbers are in favor of Gatti, but Leija does possess an impressive record. he has victories over francico bojado, mickyward, ivan robinson, and azumah nelson his losses have come at the hands of first class boxers such as mosley and dela hoya. Gatti on the other hand has been magnificent these past few year, his wars with Micky ward and ivan robinson will stay in boxing history forever. He comes to the ring with a 3 inch height and reach, and a 6 year age advantage. The two fighters are very well matched. The fight has all the makings for fight of the year although the spotlight is totally on pacqiao and moralles, this fight should not be ignored.

I am going off topic(moralles v.pacqiao) with this one but does anyone care to comment.

Actually many are also looking forward to this fight. At least I am. In fact I've been waiting for the betting to start on the Fantasy Betting section (Rick?).

Anyway I think based on the numbers this will be a very good match-up. I'm going for Gatti by decision.

Have'nt seen any fight of JJL, so I'll go for gatti. Hope I won't be wrong but I find AG a very classy and intelligent fighter.

I think it will be an entertaining and competitive fight, I look for Gatti to ditch much of his newer more defensive boxing style and come out sluggin. I could go either way but I'l say Gatti by a late round knockout.

I also think the Ouma/Kofi Jantuah undercard match could be a great one as well, so January 29th will be a can't miss night in boxing.

I think this is going to be a real close fight, I like Gatti in a war...probably by a split decision.

The undercard could be a fight of the year candidate to with Ouma and Jantuah...both fights are going to be great...if any of you out there are trying to get a buddy into prize fighting this is a must see card!

Gatti can produce a K.O but if JJL sets the pace of the fight, Gatti might be in for a long fight.

This is a toss up fight in my eyes. Everyone will favor Gatti but something tells me Leija will put up a hell of a performance and get the decision. He's the better boxer in my opinion. I'm actually looking forward to Ouma-Jantuah more than Gatti-Leija I just hope it doesn't disappoint.
