I'm telling you all, Miguel Cotto is NOT Dzinziruk, Murray, Chavez Jr., Barker, etc. He is an elite caliber fighter and this fight will prove that.

A lot of pop on those punches, nice speed but those punches he's throwing are nice and crisp and more importantly very hard.(Martinez media work out)
Interesting to see the outcome of this fight. I want martinez to win.

I think he would be ****** to, that would benefit Martinez. He has the longer reach and the mobile style. He has to do the opposite, cut off the ring and smother Martinez work. Also work the body a lot to immobilize Martinez.

Cotto has better footwork and boxing ability than Macklin and Martinez looked very uncomfortable when Macklin forced him to come forward. I think that if Cotto decides to apply constant pressure then Sergio will walk him onto something.

If it was my call I'd rather see him fight more like he did in the Floyd fight, picking his moments to come forward and doing so behind his excellent jab. But it will make for a way more entertaining fight if Cotto takes the opposite approach. If Cotto comes out all guns blazing and pressures Sergio from the start then we're going to get fireworks.

Martinez showed in the Chavez fight that he's no pushover on the inside. If Cotto gets in close, he should expect some hard uppercuts in return. Or Martinez could just do what Trout did and hold/smother.

Unless Sergio is completely crocked I just can't see how this idea of Cotto bullying him has any hope of working. Cotto couldn't bully Austin Trout. Sergio withstood the power and pressure of Pavlik, Paul Williams, and Chavez Jr.

Can you imagine what Pavlik or Chavez Jr would have done to Cotto?

So I'm watching the Yankee game on TV and they ask, "What was the first world championship fight held at the new Yankee Stadium?" Of course, I knew the answer: Miguel Cotto vs Yuri Foreman. When they gave the official answer a couple of innings later, they took the opportunity to plug the Martinez-Cotto fight. As if I wasn't looking forward to this fight enough....

I do t recall cotto trying to bully trout. It appeared to me he was trying to outbox him. Besides I don't think cotto took that fight seriously. That was his fault. Trout was starving to the payday and recognition. Cotto on the other hand wasn't into it. I suspect it was cause he only got paid 1 mill as opposed to the 8 he just got for mayweather.

Not impossible to land but difficult to do it consistently. This was also around the time Martinez was really laying leather on Chavez.

Not to mention the size and reach that Jr. has.

With possible exception of Dzinziruk, those guys were all better than Cotto at middleweight. They were legitimate, top 10 guys (Barker would become one). Cotto is not a real middleweight, and he's not as accomplished at 160 as any of them. Dzinziruk was arguably more accomplished at 154 than Cotto.

They have better MW resumes sure, but they're not his level as a fighter. And June 7th will prove that.
